Great Kids’ activities for Shabbat and Jewish Holidays

I’m going to these events and hope you will join me. (though we have aged out of Bim Bam, but Mia named it so I still feel we have to tell you how popular it has become since it started!)

Bim Bam Winter/Spring Session 
Friday Mornings, January 11-May 17 | 9:15-10:00AM, 10:15-11:00AM, 11:15AM-12:00PM | 88th Street Frankel Hall
Bim Bam is a pre-Shabbat class for children 3 and under to sing Hebrew and Shabbat related songs and enjoy Jewish learning activities. Every class ends with lighting Shabbat candles, kiddush and hamotzi to prepare for Shabbat. Register now for the 9:1510:15 or 11:15 classes. Space is limited. Cost is $270 per family/members and $350 family/non-members. Contact Kristen Kersey with questions. Note: Class will not meet March 29.

Young Families Kiddush and Tu Bishvat Celebration
Saturday, January 26 | Following Children’s Services | 86th Street Chapel
Families with young children are invited to join us after Children’s Services for a special kiddush and Tu Bishvat celebration. We’ll celebrate all January birthdays, and have kid-friendly food and atmosphere. Around 12:30PM, adults will gather separately for a Tu Bishvat teaching while children participate in a a parallel learning activity. Families will come together at 1:00PM to conclude the celebration. Young Families Kiddushim are made possible by generous sponsorships. February Tot Shabbat
Friday, February 1 | 5:15PM | 88th Street Sanctuary
Families will enjoy a kid-friendly Kabbalat Shabbat service filled with singing and dancing, followed by a dinner at 5:45PM downstairs in Frankel Hall complete with Shabbat blessings and songs. Dinner will include delicious choices for adults as well as children, and vegetarian options will be available; dietary laws observed. While adults are finishing their meal, teen volunteers will engage children in games and more songs! Register by noon on Wednesday, January 30 and contact Kristen Kersey with any questions or specific dietary requests. Cost is $25/adult and $10/child for members, $32/adult and $12/child for non-members; all children under 2 eat free.
