Heads up to parents in our neighborhood – stalker man with camera

Just call the police if you see this guy. Lets get him away from our kids… I trust Diana’s instincts and she does not over exaggerate things.

Valerie

I meant to write to you to post on your blog. A few weeks ago an older man was taking pictures of the kids that were playing at metal park**. He is very thin, has wiry grey hair and a scrappy beard.

Another family gave us the heads up that this is an on-going issue and he does this at multiple parks in the neighborhood that have sprinklers where kids are being changed in and out of swimsuits.

He gives the same line when questioned: “o.. My sister is moving here and I want to take pictures of the facilities”. He is knowledgeable enough to stay outside of the playground but he is certainly there and lingering and when questioned and asked to leave or parents will call the police he quickly disappears.

The camera he has is high quality with a zoom lens so even if he is standing outside of the park it is the type of camera that would allow pictures to be taken up close even when standing at a distance.

I hate to turn this into something but after speaking to him I got the creeps and figure its best for other parents in the neighborhood to be aware of this particular situation.

Let me know if you heard about this guy. Figure it is best for everyone to know and have a heads up.

**Metal park is the playground next to PS 87 (across the street from chirpin chicken).

He was lurking behind the bars on the north side of 77th street directly across the street from chirpin chicken.

It had a creepy factor so just better safe for all parents to be aware.
