I think this place will do really well around here, don’t you? This website always has great news but I thought I’d highlight this new blowdrying salon on 76th street!

The corner spot on 76th Street and Amsterdam Avenue that briefly held Burrata Bakery and Pizza Bar has been empty for well over a year. But a company has finally decided to open a new business there — Drybar is expecting to sign a lease for the space this week, Crain’s reported.
Burrata closed suddenly for “renovations” in January 2011 after opening just a few months before. In June the marshal gave legal possession of the property back to the landlord, according to a notice posted on the door.
Drybar is known for its $40 blowouts, and for serving champagne and playing chick flicks. Drybar’s expansion will help “affluent, professional women that must look their best 100% of the time,” Faith Hope Consolo, head of retail leasing at Prudential, told Crain’s. As opposed to the rest of you shlubs!
Lots of people have been posting to my blog about nannies if they have or need them. So check it out.
I also have a friend who recently bought a brownstone on 70th street and would like to lease it for a year or so if you know anyone who would like to get in touch with her, let me know…
