I just received this and want to share. Please pass along to anyone who could have Type B+ blood:
Dear Family and Friends,
Not a great subject header. Sorry.
Thank goodness, I rarely send and receive heart wrenching e-mails of the kind you are about to read, but I HAD to send this mail out in an all-out effort to try and help. The 2 year-old younger brother of one of Alex’s classmates has recently been diagnosed with AML Leukemia. Due to complications from the disease, he is in dire need of regular blood transfusions and platelets. The problem is also compounded due to severe allergic reactions to the transfusions. If you are B+ or know of someone who might be (not that even know my own blood type), please contact me or the blood donor center at NYU Medical Center. The family has set up a direct donor plan for Oliver Tan where he has been a patient since mid-July. I don’t have to tell ANY of you how indescribably painful it is for any of us to have witness their own child clinging for dear life. And the Tan Family are wonderful people. Please take a moment to do what you can. It would mean so much to his family…and me. Thanks so much for your support.

Love to all of you,
